Your Questions Answered
What can I expect from my sessions?

To start with you will be booked in for an Initial Consultation at no charge.
The object of the consultation is for me to better understand what you want to achieve from therapy and get a more detailed explanation of your presenting problem. This is also a time to provide you with a clear understanding of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. If time allows I may use a short hypnosis during our first consultation.
Your next session will then be booked soon after and depending on your issue each following session will occur on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis. Every session will last from 90 to 120 minutes and your progress will be checked and monitored as you continue your transformation towards overcoming your problems.
How many sessions will I need?

Whilst treatment times vary from person to person, a problem that has been causing many years of stress and discomfort can be relieved in just a few sessions. Most of my clients notice beneficial changes after the Initial Consultation and others may benefit from further support. My aim is to always achieve results in the shortest time possible.
Each person is different and will respond to therapy in unique ways. It is important to be aware that your objectives may change as other things come to light due to a shift in your perceptions. This normally creates a change in your awareness and experience over the course of therapy. This may also very well alter the direction of your therapy as it proceeds down another avenue.
In comparison to many other therapies, in hypnotherapy a shorter time is required to achieve the desired changes. On average I see clients between four to eight sessions, but this may vary.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?

As you relax deeply, you drift into a lovely daydreamy state of trance. Contrary to what you might see in movies or during hypnotist stage acts, people don’t lose control of their behaviour, during hypnosis. They usually remain aware during a session and remember what happens. You always remain in control. Most hypnosis is self-hypnosis. By using this therapeutic tool, I will help you to change your way of thinking, feeling, and behaving. However only when you are open and ready a change will take place.
Can you guarantee results?

No hypnotherapy treatment can promise you definite results because successful hypnosis requires your commitment and a deep desire to change. Hypnotherapy can be very effective in helping you with anxiety, confidence, phobias and so much more. Most of my clients leave my hypnotherapy practice happy, calm, and confident. Each one of them committed to the process and were receptive to change. Hypnotherapy is very much a co-operative process. This means that your attitude, commitment and discipline to do “the work” also outside the therapy room will ensure that the desired change will occur and become permanent.
